I have zero complaints on this product, it looks good and was easy in install. We've updated a built in microwave and a dishwasher and now this and this cooktop was by far the easiest. If you are even remotely handy you can do this yourself. I'm so glad we ordered through Amazon instead of Lowe's/Home Depot because my parents just ordered appliances and it has taken them two weeks to arrive and their order keeps getting messed up, etc. I highly recommend this product. You can't beat 2 day shipping
I replaced a $1200 Thermador cooktop with a $389 Fridgidare and so far I'm happy that I did.

Installation was more difficult that I expected; they didn't bother to install brackets for my previous unit, so I had to install brackets on my granite. I didn't like the suggested method (silicone only) so it added a day to the process to do it more securely. I also had to cut a hole in the wall because the genius installers left the box exposed for the wiring, but there was no way to get to the clamp. Patching that is another project in my future.

The reason I like this unit was 1) It was crazy cheap 2) It had a low powered and high powered element in the front, which fits my cooking style. "Quick Boil" is 3000 watts; I do my boiling in an instant pot, but the extra power is useful when stir frying or searing steaks. Even the smaller inside element is 1600 watts. My previous cooktop had 2 1200 in the front and a 2500 and 2000 watt in the rear. You can't stir fry on the rear element easily.

I feel like this unit is a bit more "glassy" than my previous unit; a bit more fragile. Time will tell how it holds up.

A downside is that I have to re-learn how to cook my favorite dishes, as the settings and power is very different. The Quick Boil element will burn fried potatoes on 3 in a couple of minutes. On the bright side is that the wok heats up in half the time.
First the good: Cooktop looks nice and heats up fast. Knobs come off easily for cleaning and rubber gaskets around knobs are secure to prevent liquid from running inside. Knobs on the side are a good location and are not in the way when cooking. Markings for the heating elements are simple and clean. I picked this cooktop over a similar Whirlpool (everything else in the kitchen is Whirlpool) because the Whirlpool has printing on most of the unit with "openings" for each element. I was concerned that this printing would get scratched easily and look bad over time. If you are having this professionally installed, I would give this 5 stars.

Now the bad if you are installing this yourself: It is literally 3 wire connections (after tripping the breaker) and 6 screws to install this, but be prepared for a trip to the local hardware store. The metal conduit doesn't come with a connector to secure it to the junction box. Old unit had a snap in fitting that was part of the metal and couldn't be reused. The part I needed was only a $1 at Big Orange so how hard would it be to include one or the snap in fitting? Electrical connections are pretty standard, so can't understand why this wasn't included. Unit just sits in the opening and there are metal tabs that support it and metal brackets to keep it from moving. The brackets are rather flimsy and the unit can slide a bit on the smooth counter top. The screws supplied were too small to secure the bracket to the bottom of the unit and stripped out (there were 2 types of screws included, 2 sheet metal screws and 4 wood screws). I had to scavenge the screws from the old unit to get the brackets tight. Instructions say to not seal or glue the unit down, but there is a definite gap under the edge. What moron thought this would be a good idea? They never clean their counter tops with soap and water? My unit sits over cabinet drawers and I don't want to open a drawer and find the contents wet and moldy. The old cooktop came with one sided foam tape that was stuck to the counter top, and sealed out water, cushioned the glass top, and kept the cooktop from sliding around. Again, a nickel and dime item that should be included. Now I'm searching to foam tape that can handle the heat.

Finally, this was shipped USPS and for some reason they wouldn't deliver it to my door and had to go pick it up at the post office. I'm not sure why something so big and heavy would be shipped USPS. Also the box is clearly labeled with UP arrows, but the address/shipping label was on the bottom so it bounced across the country up side down. The box was a bit torn up, but everything appears to be ok.
I’ve been spoiling my cooktop with microfiber and the included Cerama Bryte, ever since installing this unit, 2 days ago. Already, it looks like I’ve taken 80 grit sandpaper to it. At this rate, I’ll have burrowed through to the elements in a month or so. That’s a slight exaggeration of course, but seriously, this thing will resemble something like a Louisiana state highway in no time at all. Look at my picture, 2 days I tell you!
I'm beyond disappointed in this item. Bought this for my new house and because I cook everyday, it makes it that much worse. Main issue is that the heat is completely inconsistent! I've burned so many things because I have the knob set at 3/10 and it's basically blasting the pan and burning the food. Then when I turn the heat down to really low, it often just turns off completely and my food ends up sitting in a cold pan. It also seems incapable of doing any kind of heat other than full blast super hot, or medium hot.

I've been cooking for 30 years and cannot stand how inconsistent the heat is and how difficult it is to cook. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. It might ruin your kitchen experience

Bought this item to replace my 20 year old Frigidaire stove top (with burners) and what a good choice this was! Easy to install, Easy to use, Easy to clean! Love it!
The fit was perfect and was easy to install. I have one caution, the wiring on the unit was aluminum and if you have a copper feed to the stove, you need to sue the special dielectric grease recommended for dissimilar metals.
I had a stainless steel stove top. It went out. It was no longer available in my area. I ordered this beauty, I love it. The control knobs are easy to turn. The heat from the burners are controlled. The sensors are great wont let you overheat. I ordered this from Amazon, it was a great price. My area wanted atleast 500.00 dollars for the same stove top. Easy to install. Don't set anything on the burners when not in use. Easy to clean. Clean after each use.
