This replaces our 12-year-old Maytag gas cooktop. Its hard to find an attractive, black, glass cooktop for under $1000 these days, and then one that can drop into an existing hole or works with propane. And, this unit has 5 burners whereas our old one only had 4, including a monster burner for boiling water quickly. The unit appears to be pretty well-designed but only time will tell how well it will hold up.
The instruction manual needs some help and this is why I didn't give it a 5-star rating. There is a bag of mounting clamps but no instructions about how to use them. They are designed to grab on to the bottom of the counter to keep the cooktop from moving around. Much like a sink. There are a number of holes on the bottom of the unit, but no clear indication where the clamps should go. There are more holes than clamps. Secondly, these holes are not threaded. The kit includes self-tapping screws. I HIGHLY recommend lying the cooktop upside down on top of the styrofoam insert that came in the box (to protect the burners). Run the screws through ALL outer holes that can take them PRIOR to mounting the unit. Trying to thread these holes while the cooktop is on the counter will be difficult. Once the counter is mounted you can choose which holes work best for your install. You might not need all four clamps.
The appliance includes a gas regulator. If you elect not to use a regulator, then there are various other nozzles and fittings included to adapt to either natural gas or propane assuming your pressure is OK and stable. Use of a regulator is always a good idea. If you use the regulator then there is only one easy adjustment needed for NG or LP and the rest of the parts are not needed.
If you just focus on the design and looking, you won't be able to tell difference from other top line appliances, such as GE and Samsung. stunning coating paint and fashion design are very attractive. I am not a cooker, I cook few times a week. for this price, I can't complaint anything.
We needed a new stove top and boy are they expensive, and we even live close to Whirlpool discount stores- but everything was $500+ and nothing as nice as this one. I was not sure after reading some of the reviews, but my husband is a builder and said he could make it work and he did. I am so happy with my new stove top and that it is tempered glass instead of stainless steel like my older one. It is much easier to clean, there is no area for food to fall through and accumulate and the burner configuration is perfect for my canning needs.
This gas cooktop looks quite good. Definitely provides value for the money. Installation was very easy. the surface top is easy to clean as well. Flame control is sensitive & accurate, all 5 burners work as they supposed to. happy with the purchase.
if you need a barebones and working cooktop, this is a great buy. we had a 15 year old thermador that finally stopped working, and were unsure how much longer we'd be in this house, so this was a perfect yet inexpensive solution. the cooktop looks much more expensive than it is, and so far we haven't had any issues with operation at all.
my only major complaint is this item was packaged poorly. our cooktop arrived with the box intact, but burner disks and knobs had come loose and had been moving around freely. some of the steel surface has been lightly scratched, but i'd rather just live with it than deal with a return/replacement.

I had this item for a week. It was great until today 7/23/2020. I had it installed a week ago 7/17..
After having two dishes being cooked, the glass just cracked because it overheated or something. Even though the design is great, it is really crappy quality. Do not buy! One piece flew off and almost hit me in the eye. Totally unacceptable!
I got this in March. I hated how hard my stainless steel cooktop was to clean and this cooktop was glass. I was right--the glass is easier to clean but this cooktop has had other issues. The burners are hard to start and keep on; I was willing to live with that but last night, while boiling a large pot of water, the cooktop shattered leaving glass all around my kitchen and rendering my cooktop unusable. After reading so many reviews raving about this cooktop I am so disappointed in the performance of this item and I hate that I wasted my money.
