This burner is nice looking and pretty good for the price. I'm using it as an auxiliary burner in my outdoor kitchen. I'm sure you get what you pay for and a higher-end burner would perform better and be more powerful. Installation was very simple. My one issue with the burner resolved itself otherwise I would not be as happy with the product. I used to have to keep the ignitor held down after it was lit for quite a while or it would not stay lit. Then after having the burner for some time it that issue resolved itself one day.
looked good,but sure was a nightmare. I had three pros try to hook it up but couldn't. When finally got it hooked up two burners worked. Still trying to get other two working.
I am really enjoying this stove. I cook about 10 times a week so I need a work horse of stove. This one has performed beautifully. The back burner is great for fast boils or maintaining better frying or sautéing temperatures. The front is a great compliment by providing good simmer control.
I also love the look of it and how easy it is to clean up. It is a perfect fit for our kitchen.
I have to mention that we actually had issues with the stove when we first received it. Basically, one of the burners was just a little more difficult to light than the other. However, Empava's customer service was easy to reach and super helpful. They worked hard to figure out the issue and ultimately solved the issue for us.
This review was written two weeks ago, when we first installed the cooktop. I've edited the review with new comments and information in brackets.
When our 30 year old cooktop died, we spent hours and days searching and researching a replacement. We hesitated to buy this one, as we were afraid that the low price would mean low quality. It does not. [But it does have several major design flaws]
This cooktop is a high quality piece. The continuous grates are substantial. The flames light easily and stay lit. [The flames adjust from low to very high. However, even on the lowest flame, on all the burners, including the so called simmer burner, the flames are way too high]. The black glass top is easy to clean; but the round burner plates have a deep narrow circle that is almost impossible to get into to wipe up spiils. Unless you use a q-tip, you will not be able to clean up a spill. And if it is an oil spill that congealed and got baked in - you are totally out of luck. See photo.)
An added bonus is how little depth the cooktop needs under the counter. You can have drawers under this cooktop. Most other cooktops are too deep to allow drawers. The countertop cutout needed is 2" deep. As most counters are 1 1/2 inches thick, and cabinet frames another 1/2 inch, this cooktop can be installed in a cabinet that has drawers.
I love that the logo, and the burner indicators are under the glass, not printed on top where vigorous scrubbing will eventually remove them.
Some minor [ change that to major!] gripes - reducing it from a perfect 5 star to a 3 star
Flame is too high.
Front burners are not centered in grates. It is not easily seen where and how to place a pot.
Burner caps are discolored after only one use.
Metal burner base has deep indentation which is hard to clean.
I had wanted the safety of automatic re-ignition. Couldn't find any glass cooktop that had it, so I settled for thermocouplers instead. (The thermocoupler turns off the gas if the flame goes out, which is also a good safety feature.)
The electric cord was too short for us. We needed to buy an extension.
The installation instructions were neither clear nor complete. A long strip of foam tape was included, with no clue as to where to put it. It goes on the perimeter of the glass top, acting as a buffer between the cooktop and the counter.
All in all, it is an excellent [budget] choice cooktop. But if you are a serious cook, look elsewhere. We are still not sure if we are keeping it, or returning it.
I have to be honest, the stainless feel thin, not in the kind that's like sheet metal, but does feel thinner than our GE one that's I'm replacing. BUT....it is much more budget friendly to people like me, and it worked as it supposed to, so no complaints. If Empava is going to make it with more sturdy material, it'll look even better than the picture.

No local propane hoses seemed to work. Had to buy a high-pressure propane hose with included gauge and regulator that fit the included 3/8ths flare fitting for the stoves inlet (ended up not using the included regulator). Swapped the orifices to the ones for propane, which were included with instructions. However, the knobs would not make the propane flames any lower at their lowest settings. Did a lot of reading and watching, and found that knobs have adjustments per-burner. It's a brass adjustment screw on each burner control that's just barely visible once you take off the knobs and the silicone gaskets under the knobs. Look up adjusting gas stove simmer setting. Most videos show the adjustment as inside the stem of the knob itself. These were not. They are instead just up and to the left of the stem—flathead brass screws, small, under the stainless top, which we did not have to remove. Once each burner was adjusted, the low settings were lovely with propane. Keep in mind, the inlet pressure is 0.4 PSI for propane or 2900 pascals. The high pressure hose we got goes 0-60! So turn the regulator all the way down, and then up just barely moving the needle off of the zero pin, or maybe not even registering at all.
Aside from the small inperfection on one of the jet pilot brass tubes; the other thing is that though it would have been perfect the cooking surfaces were a bit cramped. I will likely buy this to use for outdoor cooking. For now, though, I returned it.
