The Induction cooker worked very well. Normally I would give this product 4-5 stars on that alone..... However:
The pan that came with this, and hence part of the product for review purposes, fails miserably. On the very first use of the pan, it burned a scorch mark with a loud popping sound. Under the circumstances, I would consider this thing relatively dangerous. With a setting of 150 degree's (the lowest setting) I attempted to melt t tsps of butter. Within less than 10 seconds of starting this process a burn mark appeared and multiple loud pops could be heard from the pan. It is extremely thin, and buckled and scorched under the heat of the lowest setting? Room temperature at the time would be 74 degrees (the pan temperature somewhere close to that).
Rosewill would do well to remove the pan or provide a better pan in it's stead in future. The Induction cooker worked extremely well with another product I purchased on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VGXM1DY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
worked so much so, that I would wholeheartedly recommend this "smallish" pan to everyone.
Not the included Rosewill pan. I actually consider it dangerous. If I had anything in the pan other than a pat of butter, I expect it would have been ejected from the pan as it burned and expanded! All of this damage..... and the butter did not even have time to melt. 8 seconds? Ridiculous.
UPDATE: Contacted Rosewill support website (email sent/ failed after filling out their form). Finally received an email about "hardware drivers" after attempting support requests for a few days. Apparently one of my emails that "failed" did make it to the support team. The problem I had was that downloading software drivers for my cooking pot would probably not work (at least not without the proper firmware and tftp login credentials). :( --maybe some of you will get that jab at Rosewill..... ????
After a few days without meaningful dialog and support from the manufacturer... I sent it back for replacement ( I know...should have done a refund) with Amazon. Of course... that was flawless. Thank you Amazon. At least someone cares about the customer.
On sale, this item is a really affordable and powerful portable induction stove. It heats up the pan very quickly for when you need instant heat. Unfortunately, like pretty much any other portable induction stove on Amazon, the induction coil is only about 6 inches in diameter in the center of the pan (the inner circle). There appears to be no induction coil in the outer 6"-10" of the stovetop. This leads to the middle of the pan getting much much hotter than the outside of the pan, which leads to uneven cooking and potentially warping of the cookware. I've overlaid the picture of the burn patterns flour with the surface of the cooktop to demonstrate where the pan is heating up. Overall, if you are fine with cooking on just the middle part of the stove, then this is a totally reasonable item. If you need to cook larger portions, then you would be disappointed with the uneven heating.
Good for the money. Use the magnet test on cookware. Beware a lot of cookware says it's compatible, which seems to vary from unit to unit. Here's the total truth on cookware for any induction cooker. Steel bottomed, no nickel steel (nickel gives steel it's rust and corrosion inhibitiveness, and makes it nonmagnetic). So that's not say no nickel stainless is going to that of corrode easily, just easier. A lot of stainless steel cookware is aluminum with steel outside for even heating, weight, and, well affordability. A magnet will stick at least somewhat to compliant cookware that is stainless steel, as well of course cast iron definitely works. So otherwise I advise you to read cookware reviews if you're online shopping for items to use that work with an induction cooker.
This thing is LOUD!!! I normally like to watch TV during dinner and the fan on the thing is so loud that I have to double the TV volume to just hear it.
First one had a hot spot that scalded the pan permanently. Ths company replaced it quickly. The second one worked fine. Ok for a spare burner. The pan that comes with it is very thin, but works ok.
Note: WILL ONLY WORK WITH POTS that can be MAGNETIZED. They give you a magnet to check your pots. Only 1 pot out of all my pots will work on this induction cooker.
No Aluminum, ceramic or copper bottom pots and pans.

System functioned properly for maybe first 2 weeks, then the control pads starting functioning intermittently and the stove would power up and down randomly all on its own. Now less than 2 months later the control pads are completely unresponsive and the unit powers up once in a blue moon.. not reliable and obviously not well made. Would cost more to return it than its worth, so now I have to go spend money on a completely different model/brand in the hopes that it will work as expected. I can provide video of unit malfunctioning if needed.

I have to change my review. After I burned everything when I turned it on again, I checked the temperature first. Once I got control of that, I could use the pan easily and it worked well. So the pan wasn't a problem it was my cooking skills.
When I've turned it on, it went immediately to 1400°, I touched the stirfry icon, and it stayed at 1400°. I lowered the temperature, but I wasn't fast enough to save the pan from burning. I've tried again and at stirfry and fry the temperature goes right to 1400°.
Love the induction cooktop concept. I purchased this one a year and half ago and used it daily. It failed a couple of days ago and is not repairable. My suggestion is to buy the extended warranty when purchasing one.
This item replaced an induction cooktop that was broken. the product looked good but the quality is not there.
This unit cannot take the heat. The frying pan we use (and have used for two years) has melted the front of the unit.
The pot you get with this cooktop is garbage burns everything. Save your money and purchase a better quality unit
Ordered this to use with guests coming from out of town. As soon as we unpackaged and plugged the unit in, it made a beeping noise with red power button flashing, but no response when we try pressing any other buttons. Tried unplugging, tried following the manual for troubleshooting, nothing worked. Literally would not even turn power on the FIRST time...unlike some of the users who have used it a few times before breaking down. We ended up running out last minute to get a different unit from a nearby store and will be returning this with this very disappointing purchase.
