This was shipped to a renovation project three hours from us and arrived with the top panel bent. Our installers took it out to measure with the new granite countertop and found it badly bent on one side. Now, after presenting this to seller, they require (without any forewarning) pictures of all sides of the box. The installers and or builder threw their trash away, so we've been told we're out of luck. Obviously, if you buy from this seller, realize you may get stuck with something they or their shipper did.
Update: now that the contractor finally has gotten to installation, the entire unit is bent and the vent will not extend or retract. Since this project is 3 hours from home, and this seller refuses responsibility for damaged goods unless you can take photographs of the unit and packaging which I wasn’t present to do, it is presumed your contractor dropped it and trashed the thing. Other sellers who have had this happened have worked with us on similar issues, but not this seller. Beware.
The first one I ordered never arrived so I canceled the order. I ordered again in a few weeks and it arrived in just a few day, in great shape. We were having a new gas stove top installed and this was installed at the same time.
For the install, it fit nicely in the 36" cabinet. However, the vent pipes for the previous downdraft were directly under where this fit into the cabinet. Even though you can change whether it vents to the right, left, or directly down, the unit went almost to the bottom of the cabinet directly on top of the vent pipe. But the installer cut some metal and created a custom vent connection. Everything worked out great.
For operations, when I initially popped it up the fan did not work. With a quick inspection, I found a speed control on the side of the riser. This allows me to set the fan speed as I wish. The fan is a little noisy
at the mid to high speeds. It is also a little noisy when it rises. But all in all, this is a nice unit for the money.
Love my vent however this is the second one I had to order. Both came with a bent corner. The first one was really bad and Amazon exchanged it for me. The second it wasn’t as bad so we kept it. The packaging for shipping is awful. No protection. Inside the cardboard box. My button is a little hard to push but it’s working!! Once it’s working it can cool the room quick!!!
This product appeared to be in working order, but when installed by a trained, certified electrician, it would raise but would not vent. The button to raise it was hard to push which made it difficult, but coupled with no actual ventilation even when using the adjustable fan, it did not work. Sadly, it is being returned, and we still had to pay for the electrician as they obviously don’t return that cost!😡
Pulls a lot of air. Not as effective as a hood and noisy. Raises and lowers crookedly. I’m picky though.

We had to install a vent during the build of our new home per local ordinance (required for Gas Range...)
This was the most cost effective solution. Pardon my bacon grease, it was installed 8 months ago :P
