I ordered this to replace our previous tempered glass cooktop which exploded spontaneously. I loved the look of this one when I saw it on Amazon. I also got the installation paid for an installer through Amazon. Our previous cooktop had a 3/8" gas connection, and this one had a 1/2" connection (from the 5/8" gas line). The folks that came to install it did not have a connector adapter to make up the difference. Our old cooktop had a regulator to regulate the flow of gas, and the installation guys didn't know if we needed to keep it. They also didn't carry the coupler needed to do the gas connection, and offered to run to Home Depot to get it for $60. I say I could do it myself. I then emailed Empava and had a response within a few hours: The regulator was not needed. After 4 trips to Home Depot, I realized they didn't have the coupler. So went back to Amazon, ordered it there (Anderson Metals Brass Tube Fitting, Coupling, 5/8" Flare x 1/2" Female Pipe at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AZ1SB4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). Once I got it, I installed it and it has been working perfectly. I thought of taking 1 star away for the headache, but I'm not sure if this was just because I had an old cooktop with an outdated connector. So far, I love this cooktop. So 5-stars.
Beautiful! Just installed after uninstalling a old 12 year old gas cooktop. I installed myself. Did not want to break the bank. Changed the look of the entire kitchen. Everything works well. No complaints
Perfect choice for our compact kitchen, it has all functions a big brand stovetop is supposed to has. Plus, it comes with a neat and modern looking. All burners work great and I found the flames are extremely powerful. We like the safety feature of each burner has a thermocouple if burner goes out, gas gets shut off, such a smart & secure invention. We like this stove so much, and everyone in the family start to enjoy cooking. :)
My old cooktop was a headache, it couldn't stay lit. and it has problem with the thermocouple (my assumption). This cooktop solved all problems. Modern & sleek design make it super easy to clean. It was a disaster when I clean my old cooktop if liquid is spilled under the knobs. This one comes with spill proof design, liquid won't go into that little hole under the knobs. if you spill something by accident, you don't need to spend whole day on cleaning.
What a bang for your buck. Super nice finish easy to install comes with directions that anyone could understand. One of the perks that came with the stove was the option to change out burner tips. Comes with 3 different gas line hook ups and they are labeled 1,2,3 with a description of which is which. All so came with a gas regulator. Only thing you’ll need to buy is gas teflon tape and an adjustable ranch to disconnect the gas lines. Be sure to turn off gas before dismantling your cook top.

Description

The 36" Energy Star Rated Heritage Series Gas Cooktop from Dacor will be the best addition to your place. The unit features 5 Brass Burners, Perma-Flame Technology, and SmartFlame Technology.

The packaging could use improvement. There's Styrofoam everywhere. The burners were all over in the box and I was lucky they didn't break anything else. It comes with 1/2 adapters, a regulator for lpg and I think everything you'll need to get it hooked up other than the gas hose. The main input adapter for the gas is metric I think, but you can use the adapters. The steel will scratch easily from just moving the racks. The ceramic spark thingy sticks through the lower part of the BURNERS and I think the ceramic can break easily when removing the burners for cleaning. The center burner's flame is a little crooked with yellow tips from the flame only on one side.
My biggest gripes is the two left burners don't light until you hold it down for about 20 to 30 seconds. The igniter lights like a pilot for your hot water heater, being that it will only stay lit when there's enough heat on the sensors to let the gas keep flowing. The slow to light only happens on 2 burners, leading me to belive the igniter or sensors are defective. I appreaciate the price and design, so I will try to resolve my problems through Amazon or Empava. I will keep the review updated.

Update
I've gotten use to the the igniter and I didn't return it, so the rating was updated. I think the igniter needed breaking in?
I chose this cooktop for my grandma, because of tight budget. It came on Monday, had someone installed for me the next day. The gas leaking protection is a good point, because my grandma getting old, and she forgets cooking something sometimes. It will cut off the gas if fire is put out. This is a great invention. So far, this has been a good gas range.
This Empava gas cook-top is an amazing value. This appliance nearly checks the box on everything that is important. 1. It was very easy to install. 2. It is a 5 burner unit 3. It is easy to clean. 4. It has an amazing price point compared to similar units. I have been using this unit for about 3 months now and the burners and controls all work perfectly. I only have one complaint. While the quality of the stainless steel is good, the thickness of the stainless could be better. My old Kitchen Aid unit of 20 years was virtually indestructible and it was noticeably more durable. Don't get me wrong, the Empava cook-top is holding up very well. If you are looking for the absolute best unit in the affordability category then this is the unit for you.
The stove arrived fully assembled but was missing one burner cap - no big deal, I assumed Empava would make good and timely ship out a replacement for the missing part.

As required, I hired a professional installer to install the stove and do the needed conversion to propane.
Once the stove was installed we discovered that the flames for the burners needed adjustment. The installer tells me this is usually the case.

The problem we discovered is that the adjustment screws are not accessible without uninstalling and disassembling the stove. And once it is uninstalled and disassembled, we would have to reinstall and reassemble the burners to do the adjustment, and then uninstall, disassemble and reassemble again to add back the glass cooktop. The installer assured me that this is not normal or necessary on other gas stoves.

Additionally, he pointed out that the valve stems (that the knobs fit not) were misaligned in the glass openings for them, a problem no amount of disassembly or reassembly would solve. Furthermore, we discovered the stove itself had no serial number, which again suggested that the stove was carelessly made and/or a second, and possibly a returned item they decided to sell again as new.

Numerous communications asking how to do the burner adjustment were met with surprise that I would even want to. But the flames on the stove I received do not properly calibrate: the only way to get a low flame is to turn the stove almost off, which is the reverse of how the burners are supposed to work.

In light of the various issues, I asked that the stove be replaced, preferably with a stainless model, which I thought might not have the same accessibility problems caused by the glass top. Customer service never responded to this query, nor did they offer to supply the missing burner cap. Mostly the agent kept reiterating that if I want to adjust the burners I have to take apart the stove, at the same time making it seem like my request to adjust the burners so they would function correctly was unusual.

After a lot of back and forth, Empava offered that I could return the stove for refund since I was in the 30 day return period. So that is what I have decided to do, and I will be purchasing a new stove from a different supplier.

Meanwhile, I am out over $300 for the installation of Empava's defective stove. They did not respond at all to my complaint that the stove I received was a) incomplete and b) defective and c) I was out over $300 on installation of their defective product, other than to tell me I could return it. According to them, that is my problem, they will not reimburse the installation costs which I will have to again pay when I get another stove.

Since one is required to hire a professional installer to do the conversion and installation, a refund for the product only is not adequate in this case.

I asked Amazon customer service if they could intervene and was told no, Empava is a 3rd party seller.

I never raised the issue with Empava but I also noticed that the knobs are poorly made. There is a teeny piece that fits inside the handle to hold it against the valve stem. On one of the knobs on my stove, that piece kept coming out when the knob was removed. Given that this problem cropped up with presumably brand new knobs, once can anticipate the knobs will likely need frequent replacement with use.

My olde Sears-Kenmore gas stove has lasted over 30 years without issue. Regrettably, I broke one valve stem and have learned that replacement parts are n longer available - I figured that a 30 years newer cooktop would be even better than my old one and decided it was time to replace it. Empava promised a high quality product and I can say absolutely that my old cooktop is much much better in terms of both design and function.

The upshot - beware of buying the tempered glass stove from Empava, and certainly not through Amazon - better off to buy a better made product locally with installation, by a vendor who will take responsibility if the product is defective, as was the stove I received from Empava. I don't know if the same burner adjustment problem exists on the stainless steel models - if it does, buy elsewhere so as not to waste your money.
Well design , easy installation, easy clean up, attractive appearance, function sufficient for home use
