FRIGIDAIRE KNOW ITS PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE BUT THEY DO NOT SEEM TO CARE. I HAVE BOUGHT 7 AND THEY KEEP BRAKING, AND DONT THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH AN AFTERMARKET BECAUSE FRIGIDAIRE USES A LONG VALVE STEM UNIQUE TO THIS COOKTOP.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT! After only 4-5 months of use 4 of the 5 knobs are already starting to crack and one is so cracked that it is no longer usable. We have reached out to the manufacturer and they wont respond to emails or pick up the phone to speak with me. It has now been 7 months of trying to get them to speak with me. Seriously consider another product as purchasing the knobs from fridgidaire directly are $45 PER KNOB.
Needing to replace my cooktop, I started researching all of the cooktops available that fit my needs and was within my budget. After reading the reviews, this Frgidaire cooktop seemed to be a reasonable and acceptable replacement. The first one that I was sent was defective and didn’t sit flat on the countertop, and was somehow “bowed”, but Amazon replaced it with a new one and the replacement cooktop is perfect.
It was fairly easy to install the cooktop myself. If you have decent handyman skills you can easily install this yourself, as long as you follow all of the safety guidelines. After all, when dealing with gas, you want to make sure it is installed properly.
I’ve only had the cooktop for about 6 weeks and so far, it is working out nicely. I like the positioning of the burners, allowing me to fit several pots and pans on the cooktop simultaneously. The best feature in my opinion is that the cooktop grates make one complete flat surface so you don’t have to worry about positioning your pan perfectly over the burner like other cooktops. I also like the fact that the grates themselves remove easily and the surface underneath is easy to clean without any openings around the burners which would allow food and crumbs to fall inside. Keep in mind, this is not a “professional” cooktop with an enormous amount of BTU’s that you would find in a high-end kitchen or restaurant, but if you’re looking for a decent cooktop for your home to cook food for yourself or your family, I would recommend this one.
Several of the reviews mentioned that the knobs broke easily on theirs, so I’m a little concerned about that happening down the road and I’ll be keeping an eye on that to see if/when that happens. If that happens, or any other issues arise, I will update my review.
I’m really happy with this cooktop and was pleased with its design and functionality. It looks much more pricey than it is and you should feel good about this purchase- I sure am.
This arrived fast and very well packaged. Installation was plug and play me and my husband had it installed in 30 minutes! I've been using it now for a few months.... I intentionally waited to review. The flames are perfect from big to small needs...… it adjusts flawlessly . Outstanding value considering these are over 1200 dollars at my local store. Don't hesitate on this one.

In less than two months, 3 out of 5 knobs have broken off. Just really crappy plastic.
Price was great, but I will be returning it.
I incorrectly assumed that all cooktops have burners with electronic ignition - ie, if the flame blows out, the igniter comes back on to ignite it. That is not the case with this and a lot of other cooktops. The igniter only clicks away as you rotate the knob from off towards on/high.
I also had issues with the hold down clips at the side not fitting - basically being unusable due to the design.
Within 2 months of use, gas collected under the burner level where the connections are located and we experienced a small explosion while making dinner. Lids popped off of pans, the burners went out, and the rubber seal was blown from around the unit. Had a repairman out who warned us against using the cooktop again!
Love this stove and the way it looks! My only complaint is it came with two scratches and my kitchen remodel was ready for it so I couldn’t return to get one with no scratches. It works great and I love everything about it!
