High performing even if cheap, flimsy and noisy. The range hood works well; it pulls out polluted air as it should. The lights in the back are bright and crisp. Don't let the bluish cast fool you. I like that the filters are dishwasher safe and especially appreciate the delayed power off because I can sit down right away to enjoy my cooking. My meal doesn't have to be interrupted by getting up to turn it off later.
So what if the chimney steel is flimsy? It made retrofitting it easier; we were able to cut it shorter by using only tin snips. Besides, flimsy doesn't take away from its operation. Some also said it was noisy. Really? Compared to a $200 microwave/hood combo, this is way quiet and sleeker in design. For all its benefits, cheap just isn't a problem because it functions exactly how it should, and for the price, it's definitely a bargain!
Very disappointed with Cosmo customer satisfaction. My unit was delivered without the stainless permanent filters making the hood completely useless. I contacted Cosmo customer service and respectfully asked if they would send me the filters that were supposed to be included in my purchase. All I got from them was a sorry and NO. Unbelievable customer service. Didn’t offer any type of remedy to fix the problem. So I now have a useless kitchen hood. Still can’t believe they wouldn’t attempt to fix their screwup.
This hood worked out perfectly in design, function and quality compared to other high end name brand. Not to mention providing the same high cfm power. As all fans there is some sound (more like white noise) after all its pulling all the food smell out. I absolutely love it and at night with the light in kitchen whew it's beautiful. I'm in love.
Installed the hood range just a few days ago, The instructions were clear. It included everything I needed to mount to the wall. Its a beautiful piece of equipment that fits in perfectly with my Kitchen. I'm glad I got a hood range with the lights in the front because I feel I can see better.
Lots of people complained that the fan was "loud" but fans are loud, you can pay WAY more for a quieter fan but in the end this gets the job done.
The controls are a little odd, when I press the fan low button it turns the fan on high then takes a few seconds to get to its low setting. I do enjoy the minute timer feature when pressing the power button while the fan is on, as well as turning it directly off when I press the fan speed button.
I am very happy with the price as I was expecting to pay much more for a nice hood range such as this one.
No damage when shipped
I suggest taking the film off before Installation as pieces that fit together will block you from taking it completely off.
This range hood is just okay, but the price was great. I love the nice heavy stainless steel baffles which are super easy to get in and out, and the carbon filters I purchased to use it as a recirculating range hood were incredibly easy to install as well. I love the brightness and placement of the lights and that they are a nice cool white light, not a warm yellow light. It’s not super quiet, but that is to be expected. Like other reviews have stated, when starting it on low speed, it revs at high speed first for a few seconds before backing down to the slower speed. Not a huge deal, but slightly irritating at first. I’m sure I will get used to it. I’m not a fan at all of the blue lights that illuminate on the buttons when in use. But thankfully, they are only on when the range hood is turned on! It proved to be difficult to find one that didn’t have a digital screen or other lights on the front since that took away from the clean look I was going for in my kitchen, so I can compromise with this. My biggest complaint is with the chimney. The two pieces don’t exactly match in color, as you can see from my picture. The top extension has a slightly darker, warmer color to it than the lower piece and the rest of the hood. If Cosmo would exchange it for a matching piece, that would be terrific, but I am not expecting for that to happen.

I am not reviewing the performance of the unit since there are many reviews on that already. I am mainly focus on the design, the ease of installation, and a quick noise level test.
- The duct cover barely covers the duct. Since I install my up the ceiling, this means my duct opening needs to really close to the wall, which make it harder to run the exhaust duct since it's less clearance in the attic.
- The duct cover hook to the wall design needs some improvement, there are many ways to design this, but those choose a way that would leave about 15 mm of exposed gap between the upper duct cover and the ceiling.
- They permanently sandswitched the two piece of oil filter baffle together. If there's oil stuck between the two metal, good luck cleaning it out.
- Taping the pipe to the outlet is not easy. The duck constantly drops flush against the air outlet, make it hard to put the duct half way so to tape it. Need 2 person to do this job.
- This is not stand less steel as pictured. For this price, can't expect they are.
- The noise level is higher than advertised? It's still lower than my old model. But, not as quiet as I hope. The noise meter is brand new and didn't calibrated. Take the noise reading with a grain of salt.
Great looking product. Pretty easy to install with the exception that the installation manual seemed to be for the higher priced model. The only negative is when turning on the fan in low speed, it initially kicks on in high speed for 3-5 seconds before slowing down into low.
