The price is amazing. The cooktop looks great - very clean. It showed up with no damage and in perfect condition. Be CAREFUL when putting the cast iron grates over the burners. They come in several pieces and its easy to drop them on the cooktop - you don't want to scratch it right out of the box!
Gas fittings: this stove-top uses BSP (British Standard Pipe) fittings. They are half inch. If you are in the United States and are hooking it up to a standard appliance gas line, the connections are NPT. So you will need a (G Thread 1/2" Female to NPT Thread 1/2" Male Pipe Fitting Adapter). Copy and paste in Amazon to order it. They're $20. Lowes or Home Depot will NOT have this fitting. A plumbing supply store might, but everywhere I called had no idea what BSP was, so I ordered it. Other than that, it's a cinch to instal. Push to ignite controls require 110, which we had under our cabinet.
Will update after a few months as to how it performs longer term.
After receiving the first Stainless cook top and 2 of the Igniters were bent, Returned for another. Upon removing out of the plastic bag, The TOP Looked like an OCEAN as the stainless steel seems VERY THIN ! Then onto this one. Luckily Shipping did not play Basketball with the BOX a lot and it was NOT damaged ! Looks Great in outside Porch Kitchen area ! The Shipping box did have some damage, though luckily the cook top was NOT damaged.....Update 7/21/17, the Right Rear burner is not coming on in a few seconds like the other burners. So might have to exchange for another one ?? Otherwise, been Nice cooking on a Gas stove top !
In my case I bought both this cooktop and one of their wall ovens and built my own island designed to accomodate both.
The only reason I didn't give the cooktop 5 stars is because there are some small foibles in installing the cooktop that could be rectified by a few small changes:
#1 If you are using LP(propane) it's not enough for you to just install the orifices, you have to separate the glass top from the stamped metal bottom(by removing the stamped plates underneath the cast iron grates, just 2-4 screws each) to access the adjusting valves. Start the flame, turn it to low setting, then adjust it further down for LP use. (which has more BTU's than gas) This will also make the resolution of the flame much better. It's not that big a deal, but I had to have several "back and forth"'s with Empava via email before someone was nice enough to send me a video show the process. (the language was Asian of some sort, maybe Vietnamese? Didn't matter though, I understood what was going on)
#2 The regulator sent with this unit stinks. As someone else noted you have to buy a fitting to conver it from "G" threads(European) to NPT stuff we use here in the States and if you try to use their regulator you'll have to buy 2 of such fitings. Futher, it takes up valuable space if you use it under the cooktop and over their oven. So instead, I bought a two stage regulator that hooks directly into my 100lb propane tank and it supplies exactly what I need to the oven. (11" wc)
If they would have had better instructions on the propane conversion and supplied the proper fittings for 1/2" NPT and regulator use I would have given it 5 stars. But I'm certainly happy now that I've figured it all and it's all done.
One last point, the igniter uses 110V, but I only had 240v coming in to the oven I replaced so I used a step down transformer to get the voltage I needed. They do offer a 240v or AA battery igniter in Europe with this same cooktop and it'd be a good option if they did it here too.
Overall though, I'd like to say that after all the hassle in setting it up I'm now very happy and it looks and performs great.
The design is nice with the large burner in the middle and knobs center front. The cooktop worked as expected. The grills were heavy alloy castings. It was easy to install. So easy, they didn't bother including any instructions. Cut out template was included.
The packaging was terrible. I recieved it with a broken grill! It could have easily been prevented had they used additional cardboard or foam between loose parts.
Parts were banging against one another.
At first, I thought it may have been random but the replacement was exactly the same.
Absolutely classy, beautiful, well built, and extremely great customer service! I ordered the 34" Tempered Glass Built-in cooktop and I am thrilled that I received in in one day. Johnson, was quick, efficient and extremely professional and was so helpful with instructions on what I needed to buy. Just buy a 1/2" Female Gas Fitting $3.74 at Home Depot and the installation was so quick and easy. I highly recommend Empava appliances!

I really love the look of the stove, easy to clean, and love the large middle burner, Only two issues.... one is when you turn on a burner you have to wait about three or four seconds after igniting it to let go of the knob or it will go out. I have gotten used to it, no big deal. The other issue is that even on low, the medium burners are not that low. I am just Iearning how to use it. I had a solid surface electric stove before this that I hated, so this is a huge improvement.
good for the price $329 .. Hard to push the knobs when igniting it. need hold the button down long until start.
