I liked it at first, though one of the screens tends to fall out, but it stopped working after about 3 years. Way too soon.
UPDATE: Customer service responded to this review and after we spoke on the phone they sent me a new motor which was a breeze to replace. The machine works fine now. Not getting a "5" because it shouldn't have stopped working to begin with, but they get a four now because they fixed the problem pro-actively and did not charge me even though it was out of warranty.
This was an excellent replacement for the 20+ yr old decrepit range hood in older house. I checked hoods at big box stores that were far more expensive and am glad I purchased this one based on reviews. It is just as good looking and as quiet as much higher priced models that were on display at the big box stores. Installation was a breeze. I use a common 75 watt LED equivalent daylight bulb. It is very bright and much cheaper to replace than halogen bulbs that come with higher priced hoods. I liked the 4 way exhaust options available with this fan. When taking the old fan down I discovered it only exhausted to the unfinished attic...not outside... and therefore not a good idea. Therefore I opted to install it ductless with a charcoal filter rather than cutting a hole in the roof and extending the vent to the outside.
We (mostly) redid our kitchen last year. The house was built in the 70’s and has never been remodeled, so we still had the wood-looking laminate cabinets, laminate countertops, laminate flooring, black over range microwave, etc. Very dark since the kitchen is in the middle of the house. We painted all the cabinets white, ripped out the monster of a microwave and now needed to fill that space. I liked the thought of not having to duck down to see what I’m cooking on the back burner, so we started looking into range hoods. Since any home project turns more expensive than you originally thought because of newly discovered issues, we needed a budget friendly hood which allowed for a rectangular duct at the top, but also from a brand I have heard of. After researching many brands/models and comparing prices from different stores, we decided on this baby. She has been wonderful, absolutely wonderful. I may be talking it up more than others would, but coming from someone who had been used to a dark, dirty and absolutely broken/dead microwave to a bright, spacious range hood, it’s a dream come true. I probably installed it in March or April 2017, and have used it every day to cook since (I like the additional light when I cook on the stove). The fan is amazing and sucks the steam right up. I haven’t burned anything yet to where there is actual smoke that needs to be sucked out, but I cook exclusively with cast iron, and whenever I cook steak or fry some chicken, there is some smoke that comes up, but sucks right out. I mostly use the fan for when I’m making pasta and boiling the noodles (which is at least once a week). Keeps the kitchen cleared up, doesn’t get my cabinets above the stove all wet from condensation.
I love this thing, haven’t had any issues and would highly recommend.
This hood replaced an older almond colored hood that was the same size.
The hood arrived with a small dent on the front edge just right of center. My wife thought it was hardly noticeable, so I installed it. I saw it every time I walked past it for about 2 weeks. Then it’s like it disappeared. I just thought of it for this review. I think that the shipping box was perhaps not intended for UPS handling.
After turning off the breaker to the outlet that served the old hood, the new power connection was easily stripped and secured to the existing plug. Please note that the hood is intended to be hard wired as shipped. If yours is a new installation that is intended to be plugged in, a plug adapter will need to be purchased separately.
The old hood recirculated air. I ran a new vent through the roof because I like to make projects as difficult as possible. The knockouts for the roof vent are securely mounted. It took enough force to knock them out so as to warp the top of the hood. It is not noticeable once installed.
The included black plastic internal vent cover is supposed to clip on the outside of the hood when vented through the roof. I managed to reach up into duct in order to mount the plastic cover internally to the vent. I thought that the black plastic looked cheesy on the front of the hood.
From a 6’ tall vantage, the hood looks sleek. At a 5’ tall vantage, the underside appears unfinished. That was not a deal breaker. Just keep this in mind since there are options with a stainless steel finished underside.
All-in-all it was a cheap, simple and effective upgrade around our new appliances.
stainless seams are not filled and are waiting for area grime to get in look like a permanent mess.... bare lightbulb awaits same fate. the plastic plate covering ductless louvers does not fit and will not stay in place...it also is a generic cheap plastic, probably same one for all finishes.... why not duct tape? results the same.....
sheet metal corner bends are sharp and protruding sharp ends of sheet metal screws demand caution... t
he stainless steel finish would have been its best feature. but they did not care to grind or polish the spot weld scabs on the front finished surface...
and lastly, the motor on high speed whines and the annoying high pitch means its useless.. ..

So I'll start with my upset, the box was damaged which lead to the range hood being damaged! I normally have time to take stuff like this back to Kohls for returns but I did not. So I looked tattle hood and the facia, buttons and all external parts were not damged. It was the fan housing and filter. So I straighted the bent parts out and installed it easy peasy.
The fan works great, looks great and with a good LED bulb it's very bright. I would buy it again, but not from Amazon. I know I'm saving some money with prime but I don't want te headache he of having to do returns when th3 box is damaged.
Fan has lots of power and the light throws an even light, removes the shadows and happened to match the stove perfectly. This unit comes with the option to vent outside or recirculate inside. My stove is on an outside wall so I chose to vent outside. I had to pick up a few things at the hardware store 7" 90 for the hood, a 7" to 6" reducer and a vent with flap (had attached 6" pipe) for the outside wall. Had to trim the pipe on the outside vent as it was to long but overall it installed fairly easy. Wiring was a simple black to black and white to white with a green ground lug on the hood. Still have a bit of insulation to add on the inside but it works great.
this is the thinnest metal construction I have ever seen in a range hood. the metal in the one it replaced was twice as thick. pick it up the wrong way and it dents. once installed it works but did not slide right into the existing external vent hole. it needed to be modified with tin snips to fit. would I buy it again? no
I had a very tight spot and needed a small range hood to fit in. Also, it had to be non-ducted. So I opted for this low-priced product and I must say that I'm very happy with my purchase! The only con is that the charcoal filter is not included and wasn't so easy to find. But, at that price, I believe they couldn't include such a filter that sells for half the price of the range hood itself. Simple and easy to use, first perfectly, I needed the extra wire to connect it and it was easy to install. Not too noisy (it's a fan so I expect it to make some noise!!). I do recommend this product!
Used this for a secondary kitchen in the basement and it serves its purpose perfectly. The contractor who installed it said it was easy to install. Great value for the money as other similar 24" range hoods in local stores were both hard to find and more expensive. Suction power is good for a range hood this size. Very happy overall!
