Put in the propane jets and it seemed to have perfect flames without even adjusting the flow. The instructions tell you how to adjust the flame and the small screw driver is included! Instructions well written. CAUTION; the instructions do not give you required spacing behind the stove top to the back splash. They tell you to use material surrounding the stove that will withstand 200deg F. With the large burner at the rear you only have about 4.5" from the center of the large burner to the back of the stove. If your counter is only 21 or 22" deep, the rear burner will most likely burn the back splash of the counter when used at full flame! Even with a 23" deep counter I don't think I would use this with the large burner at rear as they picture in the manual. Personally, I would put the stove parallel to the counter with the knobs to one side. The cast iron grill is well designed to well support any size pan you might use. Because of space limitations, I ended up putting this stove with the large burner at front-- with the knobs near the backsplash. Not ideal, but usable. BTW- The same seller sells the same SS version cheaper elsewhere listed on Amazon..
LASTLY- Additional Installation fittings probably needed! The unit comes with a 3/8 " male flare straight fitting and an angle fitting for a rubber hose (as pictured.) I am not sure where you'd use the angle rubber hose fitting even as a portable. The stove comes with optional 4 feet that would allow use as a free standing stove.
The straight 3/8" male flare fitting included points straight back toward stove end opposite to the knob end. There is not room for most counter depths to attach a flexible metal hose and put a 90deg bend to one side or other. For permanent installation, you will most likely want a 3/8 female flare elbow- see the pictures. I could only find 3/8 female flare by 3/8 x 3/8 male flare Elbow fittings. I ended up with one of those plus one 3/8 female flare to 1/2 male flare straight fitting to fit my existing flexible metal hose connection...
Did not get a propane hose with it for the price disappointed their wasn’t a way to secure it in the event of a roll over other than than fine
